i've changed so much since i first started this site.

brief introduction. my name is kathryn marie, katie to everyone who isn't my mother and pissed at me. (ashley and celeste, not included.) i'm twenty two years old and a student at dominican university. i am currently a first-year grad student there, going for my masters degree in library and information science. i will be graduated from illinois wesleyan university on april 30th, 2006, where i received my bachelor of arts in english writing, with a minor in psychology.

currently, i'm working as a youth services' assistant librarian, where i am in love with my job and my kids. i have never been professionally happier in my entire life and i can't wait to keep doing this (or be in charge of my own department, haha).

oh, how many loves i have in life. friends and family top the list, writing and reading a close second. photography, web-design, music, volunteering, acting five and a half follow close behind. i love my crazy addictions and would never change them for anything in the world.

writing is my life. i love it more than i can explain and i do not know what i would without it. i seriously fear that i might die without it in my life. i write anything and everything. novels, poetry, short stories, news, opinions, rants -- you name it, i've written it. nanowrimo is the best thing that has ever happened to me. it has proven that i'm not alone and that other crazy people exist.

music is something that i need to add in here. i've played violin since i was ten years old, which means that i'm going on twelve years of violin. i've sung in choirs since i was four. at university, i had to put my music on the back burner and it's cost me emotionally. somehow i survived by listening to a lot of music and a lot of broadway. you can go ahead and see what i listen to here. and if you wanna see my violin, it's in the photo pages.

my birthday comes around every year on july 11th. i'm currently living at home with my parents in melrose park because dominican is about twenty minutes away and i'm trying to save money. my sister -- and best friend -- is still downstate at iwu, and she'll be turning twenty one in october.
